I was flipping through the latest copy of Modern Bride magazine (which by the way is searching for their next Modern Bride of the Year for those you modern gals who might be interested), when an entry in their “News & Notes” section caught my eye.
If you’ve got a copy, check out page 122’s “Something Old…” tidbit. It’s about a man named Jeff Cane who produces marriage certificates that look like medieval documents. The company is called An Englishman in LA. They produce all manner of things from candles to crosses to wooden tablets. Ah, but what we wedding-centric folk are most interested in is the marriage certificate (see that lovely piece on right?).
If you’re looking for something unusual and interesting, this may just fit the bill. You can get the certificates framed or “Cast in Stone” (tile piece). I’ll warn you it is not cheap, starting at $195, but they certainly are beautiful work. I’m thinking it would make lovely anniversary gift as well.
How nice to have a resident scribe!
