Stand by Your Groom

Here’s a quick wedding factoid we found while researching the ‘net: The tradition of a bride standing to the groom’s left began when grooms feared that the bride’s family would try to take her back. This position left the groom’s right hand free to grab his sword and defend his bride.

Attention grooms, why not take a moment and phone your future in-laws and reassure them that they’re not loosing a daughter…but gaining a son! I suppose this means the phone is mightier than the sword.
