Ask Our Wedding Planner: Fitness

It’s time to Ask Our Wedding Planner!

Q.  I’ve got a few pounds I want to shed before the big day.  Do you have any advice for the best way to do it?

A.  Everyone feels that they have a few pounds to lose before their big day.  The best way is by eating right.  You don’t want to not eat because this can be just as detrimental as eating too much.  You just want to eat right and in the right portions.  So many people will say “OH, I’m eating a salad or vegetables”, but will eat 2 or 3 more portions than they should because it is good for them.  They might add things to the salad or vegetables that make it unhealthy, especially certain salad dressings or toppings for the veggies.

You also want to make sure that you are exercising somehow.  It can be walking; running, aerobics or anything that you enjoy that increases your heart rate.  There is a multitude of things that you can do.  The more fun you have doing it, the more likely that you will do it on a regular basis.

Some people also enlist the help of a personal trainer to make sure that they are on track and keeping up with their goals.  Personal trainers will cost a little more than the regular gyms but they are totally worth it.  They can really be the driving force that makes sure that your meeting the goal that you set for yourself.

Keep these tips in mind when you are getting ready for your special day.

Happy Planning,
