Spoil Yourselves When You Are Wed–Say Your Vows on Hilton Head!
When my niece got married last September on Hilton Head Island off the coast of South Carolina, it was like a honeymoon for everyone in attendance. Cari and Brian wanted a small, laid-back wedding on a beach surrounded by pristine beauty and luxury. Hilton Head Island is the epitome of beauty and luxury—you may never want to leave!
You’ll be glad to know the residents and government of Hilton Head Island passed laws to prevent rampant commercialization, preserving the tropical charm most other islands lose in development. From Harbour Town with its classic lighthouse and upscale shops to her unspoiled, natural beaches, there’s plenty to experience, eat and enjoy during a wedding weekend.
Cari and her mom were able to make arrangements for everything online—the flowers, the catering, the photography, etc.—with just one visit beforehand to double-check their decisions. It was all spectacular and stress-free!
The weekend weather was a balmy 80º, low humidity and a gentle breeze—glorious! We stayed at resort with a lavish spa, an emerald-green golf course (the men were in fairway heaven!) and horseback riding on the beach. The rehearsal dinner Friday night was a sumptuous barbecue held under the stars among exquisitely lit palm trees on a deck along the ocean. Dress code for the beach-side, Saturday evening wedding was strictly casual—shorts, flip-flops, jeans—whatever our hearts desired. Cari was stunning in a strapless, white sheath, and Brian wore a white Hawaiian shirt and slacks. We celebrated afterward in a gorgeous, glass-enclosed gazebo, where the festivities lasted for hours!
Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? And it could be your wedding destination!

I love “beachy” places! I grew up in them. Don’t ask me why I’m in landlocked DFW… hehe This seaside sounds heavenly to me.

We just returned from Hilton Head and although I was only there for 2 hours, I loved it! I can’t wait to go back and spend a lot more time.
