We recently received a letter from Rick Mulholland at Novell Design Studio, a wedding ring manufacturer.  He was introducing us to Novell’s customization capabilities (Way cool by the way - I totally love the idea of really getting involved in the process and choices for the rings!). He also wanted to share the company’s latest brochure with us, “Choosing the Right Metal for Your Bridal Jewelry” which they describe as being designed to help the average customer decide which metal will be the best choice for their wedding or engagement ring.Â
I also got a lovely view of their Max Squared Collection (pictured right). It’s so nice to see beautiful choices in men’s rings too. My husband has been reluctant to wear his ring. He’s says it’s not really him and admittedly he has never been one for jewelry at all. We searched high and low for a “silver” ring to match mine. We kept running in to too much “bling” for him. (Men! How can you have too much bling?
Hehe!)Â Ah, well, one of these days we’ll break down and get something customized.
Veering back on track, I was talking - metals. While we’ve probably all thought about the stones we want in our rings, we might not have given much thought to anything beyond “gold” or “silver” or possibly even “platinum.” I must say I found it fascinating to read up on other choices like - palladium and tungsten. Tungsten? What the heck is that? So I went to read some more about it. So, if you’ve never heard of some of the new metals being used, take your time and look around. There are some interesting choices today.Â

Get creative, let yourself explore the possibilities. That way, even if you fall in love with something traditional in 14k gold, you’ll know it’s because it truly suits you!
