The latest question for our wedding planner is:
Q. What are some good ways for a bride to “de-stress”?
A. First and foremost - RELAX! Yes, this is definitely harder said than done. Just the mere thought of planning your wedding causes more stress than most people experience in their whole life. The reception, the ceremony, the dress, the wedding party, the cake, the groom, the parents, ohhhhhh my goodness, I am getting stressed out just writing about it!
The single most effective thing to de-stress yourself is to RELAX.
On a personal level, I have experienced what I consider the ultimate in relaxation - Reflexology. Reflexology is a superbly relaxing treatment that applies pressure to the reflexes on the feet, thereby releasing tension, reducing fatigue and improving physical balance to the entire body.

I must admit, I was a little sceptical at first. But the second that I walked into Paula Quick’s Bridal Reflexology sanctuary, I was flabbergasted. From the enticing aromas, to the holistic and feng shui ambiance, I was transformed from a ball of stress to a flowing sheet of linen. She massages your feet, hands and ears to rejuvenate and stabilize your body, to improve circulation, release blocked energies and eliminate toxins.  I would definitely recommend this to any bride to calm her jitters or to unwind from a hard day of planning. This can also be used as a retreat for brides and their bridal party or a relaxation for the wedding party the day of your wedding.Â
If that’s not your cup of tea, there are many other “spa day” options that are just as relaxing including some easy at home ideas. Just set aside some time (yes, find some) and indulge in things like - a bubble bath, soak your feet in a foot spa (like this one from Homedics), or just unplug from the world for a bit (no phone, no cell - go read!).
Happy Planning,

I was dragged quite literally into working on brides. An overly critical future mother-in-law had sent the bride into a form of panic attack. My cousin dragged me into the bride’s dressing room to work on her feet.
After that story got out, I ended up working on several more brides and grooms. It really seemed to help.
Thanks for the link to our page. Here’s a handy chart that may help. http://www.dk.com/reflexology

Hi Kevin! I’ve not tried it myself, but it sure sounds wonderful. I’m going to have to find someone local one of these days.
