So Valentine’s Day is the most popular day of the year for couples to become engaged. No, I don’t remember where I heard that but it makes sense, I think. Assuming that that little tidbit is correct, it makes the day after Valentine’s Day the perfect day to discuss how you felt about it. Did you like it? Love it? And what if you didn’t like the proposal?! Ouch…
Take a look at a post from Rocka98 at the WeddingChannel.com and the pages of responses about her self-proclaimed “unromantic proposal.” You can read some more wedding proposal stories at FirstDance.com (where I loved JP’s proposal to Natasha - check it out on YouTube - talk about a production! LOL).
If you aren’t one of those couples who got engaged on Valentine’s Day, the next most popular choices include Christmas and New Year’s. So, if you weren’t quite ready or need some advice, check out tips from Askmen.com, Romancestuck.com, and the Marriage Proposal Ideas blog.
If you’re the one doing the proposing, my advice is listen to your sweetheart. Listen to what she says and what she doesn’t say. Since you’ve been talking marriage, chances are the subtle hints about what she’d really like are there. If you’re really stumped, don’t hesitate to run your idea by her best friend or her mom. Of course, then you’re taking a chance they’ll slip up and spill the beans. No one in my family can keep a secret, heh! Ah, choices, choices!
