Stumped for gift ideas for your bridal attendants? I thought I’d round up some places to spark your imagination.
If you haven’t discovered the Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine, then you might not know Darcy Miller or the Bride’s Guide blog she runs. If your taste runs to Martha’s style, you’ll love this stop. Naturally there is all kinds of advice and links and some wonderful pictures. I particularly like the idea at the “Ring True” post that suggests giving your bridesmaids a little something to dress up their hands.
American Bridal has some lovely ideas including a simple but elegant looking personalized compact mirror. Ms. & Mrs. has an adorable bridesmaid survial kit. Blissweddings.com also has two pages of ideas submitted by their readers. I liked the sterling silver charm bracelet idea, but then I’m partial to silver myself. Finally, TheKnot.com has 50 Inspiring Ideas for your gifts from “lavish” to “do-it-yourself.”
One more suggestion? All your gifts do NOT have to be the same. You don’t have to buy 5 matching widgets or whatever. Just like any other gift from the heart, make it something you bought with that individual in mind and not a cookie cutter “because I have to” gift.
When my best friend got married, I was her matron of honor. My son was hardly 5 weeks old and we weren’t sure we could still make it to the wedding. Her gift to me? “Future Babysitter” coupons she made up herself that I could redeem when I wanted. I was touched by her thoughtfulness. And, boy, did those come in handy!
