Designer Highlight: Jenny Lee

Finding the perfect bridal gown… If it hasn’t happened to you yet, it’s a little like stepping from shadows into sunlight. I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that. There is a sense of relief, joy, and maybe a touch of disbelief that you really found “it.”

A lot of brides say that that happens when they actually put the gown on. I, however, got a shimmer of that sensation when I was flipping through a fairly recent copy of Modern Bride. I turned the page and there was this lovely, almost ethereal, bride in what I thought was the most beautiful gown I’d ever seen. I’d found Jenny Lee’s style 706 from her Fall 2007 collection, a bewitching long-sleeved gown in ivory duchesse satin.

Jenny Lee started designing at the tender age of six. She opened her first boutique in Beverly Hills in 1995. According to the bio at her website, her design aesthetic is “based on clean lines, not too much elaborate embellishment and a rather pure form.”

If you live in Los Angeles, you can find the Jenny Lee Bridal Boutique on Melrose Avenue. Those of us in other parts of the country may be able to catch up with one of her trunk shows. I’ve listed a few of them below.

Trunk Show Schedule

Shows from February through March are also posted at her website. Wander through Jennyleebridal.com yourself for some truly wonderful designs. If you’d like to see what others are saying about Jenny Lee, read up at Onewed.com and Beachcomberbride.com.

I’m headed back for one more glimpse at that wonderful gown!
