The 12 Wedding Days of Christmas: Day 5

Posted on Monday 31 December 2007

Continuing our 12 Days of Christmas Countdown, we are up to Day 5 - “My true love gave to me - five golden rings!” One has to wonder why you’d actually need five golden rings… In any case, gold, silver or platinum, the true topic is rings!

If you haven’t made a decision on a ring yet and want some ideas, there are so many places to go!

Looking for some guidelines on what to spend? See SoYouWannaKnow.com’s article on how much you should pay. You can also review our previous post on Diamond Cuts for Wedding & Engagement Rings.

Since it is also New Year’s Eve, My Wedding Hero would like to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year celebration! (Psst - great night for proposals!)

The 12 Wedding Days of Christmas: Day 3 & 4

Posted on Friday 28 December 2007

To keep you covered over the weekend, we will be combining a few of the days in our Twelve Days of Christmas interpretation. The gifts for the 3rd and 4th day are “Three French Hens” and “Four Calling Birds” respectively.

We’ll just stretch the “hen” definition to include the UK slang term “hen” - as in females. What better time to discuss the hen party (bachelorette party) and bridal shower. Pop over to Bachelorettepartyguide.com, Bridalshower.com, and Abridalshower.com for all manner of ideas!

As for the four calling birds, some people choose to release doves instead of throwing rice after the wedding ceremony. If you’re looking for information on dove release, check out Allweddingcompanies.com. And just for fun, check out this article on what a “calling bird” is!

The 12 Wedding Days of Christmas: Day 2

Posted on Thursday 27 December 2007

We are continuing our countdown of the 12 Days of Christmas…Wedding Style. We are on day 2 and the song goes: “On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me - two turtledoves.” In the new MWH “tradition”, we’ve decided these two lovebirds are obviously the bride & groom.

Did you know the bride and groom are supposed to gift each other? Yes, indeed! Not only do they get gifts from guests, but they are supposed to buy each other a gift as well. We thought we’d help you out a bit. For ideas and feedback, check out a few of these links:
