Looking for some help setting up your wedding budget? Before you can begin to choose any of the details, you should decide what kind of wedding you want and how much of a wedding you want to pay for.
If you’ve never been to a wedding or not been to one the size you’re considering, take some time to surf through wedding sites, wedding forums, as well as some bridal magazines and stores to help prepare.
Places like Dillard’s bridal registry, TheKnot.com, Brides.com, and WeddingBee.com all have great information and suggestions.
One of the essential tools to help you set up is a wedding budget worksheet. Of course if you use My Wedding Hero to help plan your wedding, you have an easy-to-use budgeting tool built in.
You can also read up specifically on budgets at:
Once you are set up you can also look for things like this article at MarthaStewart.com to help you trim back if you need to: 50 ways to trim your budget.
And then the last thing to consider? How will you feel in 5 years, 10 years or even 20 about the amount you spent? Some couples will tell you in retrospect that scaling back just a tad and saving a bit more might have been a better idea. Others will say it was worth every penny. Hindsight is 20/20 afterall!
