Groom Time

Remember “back in the day” when the boys had a place to hang out by themselves? You know, the kind of place the cartoons depict as a rickety shed or tree house with the big “No Girls Allowed” sign? Well, I’m not sending you there. LOL!

However, I am going to recommend a couple sites for the guys. While girls (and brides!) are most definitely still allowed, the sites are groom-centric and not in the least bit rickety!

The Groomstand.com has both a blog and a shopping area that covers all kinds of groomsman gifts to wedding party gifts. Be sure to check out the very funny article about Cary Grant, tuxedos and dressing the groom!

Groomgroove.com is a fun, slick-looking site that touts itself as “the web’s best roadmap for a groom’s trip down the aisle.” Take a couple pit-stops at places like their most popular articles list, the media section (with proposal video), and a slew of information sections that could comprise a groom’s manual! See the nifty ring calculator, weddings 101 and tips for the best man. It’s like a bit of “vroom vroom” for the groom! Last but not least, read their excellent review of My Wedding Hero - wedding planning software.

Well, that’s all the drive I’ve got left for the week folks! Check us out on Monday when we’ll bring you the first of a series of December Monday’s special posts and the launch of a giveaway contest!

Preserving Your Wedding Bouquet

Preserved Wedding Bouquets

I’ve always told my husband not to buy me flowers. Yes, I heard you gasping! I’ve told him I didn’t think they were worth the expense when there are other more lasting things he could give me. He thinks I’m being practical. In all honesty, I love flowers. It just makes me sad when they die! I’ve often thought it was a shame that we can spend so much money on flowers for wedding events and not be able to retain anything but the pictures!

Well, it seems someone has solved a bit of that conundrum for me. The Heller and Reid company has some lovely ways to preserve your bouquets! Their options include shadow boxes, tabletops, and wall displays. I rather like the little lantern options too. Of course, the type of bouquet you have will make a big difference in what you choose. Keepsake Floral offers similar services - and according to their website are the “exclusive provider of floral preservation services for the Walt Disney World Resort® and the Walt Disney World Fairytale Weddings.”

If you are more of a do-it-yourself person, you also might want to check out these articles at Ehow.com and Craftplace.org.

P.S. A note to my husband – No, Honey, I’m not hinting for preserved flowers…
