Cupcakes are gaining popularity as an alternative to the wedding cake. Now, you and I both know that anything new or different is going to cause some ruckus. Here are a few pros, cons and pictures.
- Weddingcakecincinnati.com says some planners urge caution in choosing cupcakes and give their reasons why.
- Lovetoknow.com’s wedding section includes two very good points – amusing, whimsical option versus no picture of the bride & groom cutting the cake!

- If you are a fan of the cupcake itself, also wander through Couture Cupcakes for some more great ideas from a fellow fan.
Personally, I like this option for certain weddings/themes. It’s not one I would choose for a formal affair, but anything in a more informal venue would be great! I’m thinking family weddings, garden weddings, seashore weddings – you get the idea.
