Ah, the bridal show - that lovely opportunity to be completely overwhelmed, excited, distraught, and amazed at the sheer variety of people and businesses available to today’s bride.
If you are recently engaged and haven’t yet explored or realized how much you have in front of you when it comes to wedding planning, you may be wondering what we’re talking about. You’ve probably attended a convention of some sort for business or for pleasure. Take that experience – vendors hawking their wares, buyers wandering around trying to filter through information overload, sore feet at the end of the day – and apply it to wedding planning. There you are! The Bridal Show! Hee hee.
Now, I’ve attended a couple conventions in my time, including a very small bridal show back in the day before it became such a HUGE thing to do. To tell you the truth, I’d forgotten I’d even gone until I was discussing this topic with a friend who so politely reminded me that we attended one when I was first engaged back in *mumble mumble*. With friends like that – pfft! Needless to say, to compare that show to what is out there today is like comparing a station wagon to a sports car. Sure, they both get you where you’re going, but…
So, when the boss asked for a piece on bridal shows, I knew I was going to need help.
I chatted up a couple of our industry contacts who quite patiently put up with my neophyte questions. We’ll be presenting their responses in the next couple of blog posts this week.
Today’s bridal show is an incredible event. If you can think of it for a wedding, someone will have a booth for it. Before we get to industry insiders, here are a few things to introduce you:

Tips for attending:
Incredibly, there is even a digital version at Online Bridal Shows complete with booths, registration, bridal stories and a message board.
As my sister would say, that’s the bomb.com. Wow!
