From time to time, we’ve mentioned using seasonal flowers as a way to enhance or evoke the mood and time of year your wedding takes place. We’ve also said they are a great option for reducing floral costs in your budget. Both are still true! Let’s explore a few of those options for Fall.
Freshroses.com has a great list, sorted by month! Flower Shop Network.com also has a great article about Fall flowers and colors.
Discover the rich palette of this season. Fall doesn’t mean just orange, gold or rust. Think chocolates, purples, or hunter greens even.
Consider these:
- Gold and Yellow Roses – think of all the shades from the palest yellow to the deep beehive.
- Gerberras – in yellow and orange for a simpler fee.
- Calla Lilly – if you’re going for that white on white look or using white accents although they also come in lovely purple varieties.
- Iris – in the wonderful purple shades for richness.
- Snapdragons – in orange even!
- Oriental lilies (Stargazer) – for a more exotic looking touch.
Heathers and eucalyptus are also options. Do be careful not to overpower the nose though with too many varieties. War of the Scents is bad for the allergies!
I think this bouquet is a gorgeous example of what Fall can accomplish.
Most of all, pick something that makes you happy! If that’s baby’s breath and sunflowers, then so be it!
