Kid Friendly Wedding Receptions

Weddings and Kids

If you have included children in the big day, as guests or wedding party members (Isn’t that flower girl adorable!), you’ll want to make sure that there is place set aside where they can relax too. When you make a “kid zone,” it helps keep them entertained without making them or their parents feel excluded from the general festivities.

So, you’re thinking “that’s a great idea, but how do we do that?” I’m so glad you asked! A little link hopping and, voila, a host of ideas!

If you’re planning an event where children are not on the guest list, you can certainly include that information in the invitation. You may want to be sure that you tactfully approach the subject even in advance of the invitations. Most parents will understand.

As a parent myself, even when someone says it’s ok to bring the kids, I always, always, double check! However, we all know those family members or friends who can sometimes feel slighted or even insulted if they feel their children are excluded. Be polite but firm. Like “Gee, we’ll miss you. But I understand why you feel you can’t come.”

Consider their responses a test run for you, should you decide to have children yourself someday!
