In part 1 of this post, we looked at the need for preparing your finances for marriage. In part 2, we’ll show you a couple of ways to help get you started.
Any number of things could cause you to be grateful for insurance:
- Imagine the bride or groom called to duty from reserves or had cancelled military leave.
- Sudden illness
- Severe weather and natural disasters
- Ruined photos, dresses, etc.
- Your dog chewed up your stationary. (Ok, maybe not that one hehe!)
I’m not trying to play gloom and doom, just raising a cautionary flag. Premiums can run anywhere from $95 to $1,000 with the average policy in the $125 to $500 range (that being annual premiums). It will depend on they type of coverage you choose. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! You’ll find agents like Utopia Providers (www.utopiaproviders.com ) are providing these services as well as the national firms such as State Farm.
While you are looking at insurance for your wedding, it’s the perfect time to look at what insurances you’ll need to change or adjust for your married life as well. Auto, home, and life coverage are all impacted by marriage. What beneficiary changes need to be made? Shop around and don’t hesitate to ask questions. You want to be sure you are comparing apples to apples.
And that takes us back to nests then, doesn’t it? Build yours well!
