Fit for a Bride

Bride Fitness

Yes, brides are buffing up! Every bride (and groom too!) wants to look their best on that special day. Along with who, when, and where, we seem to have developed “how” - for how fit you’ll be. As if you didn’t have enough to think about, right?

Some brides, even among the fittest, are going the extra mile or extra “pilate.” (Is that a word by itself? LOL) Check out this article from NY1 News: Brides get buff before walking down the aisle and this program from Physique57.com: New York Bridal Countdown.

Want to get a fitter you and not fatten someone else’s bottom line? I believe it’s generally held that plain old walking is still an appropriate activity to help you reach your goal. Do invest in a good walking shoe! That’s an investment in you, even post-wedding!

Whether you’re marching to your own beat or not, buffing up or slimming down, check with your doctor before you start a new exercise program.

Makeup for the Mature Bride

Makeup tips for the Mature Bride

I’ll let you in on a secret - I’ve always hated makeup. I’ve often thought it was rather unfair that men could do the hair and walk out the door without the makeup fuss. Is that lipstick too bright? Gee, I loved that shade of eye shadow - in the store. It’s even worse for me on special occasions. You want everything to be so perfect.

Even if you’ve nailed the look, got the know-how for day or evening, upscale or Friday casual, life can throw you a reality check. One day you realize what worked at 20-something isn’t working in your 30-something life and so on. Then you’re on the hunt for new makeup, skin care, and updated advice.

I started to write today’s post about wedding favors. Frankly, the last thing I expected to find when I was researching this subject was this informative, sensitive article about makeup for mature brides at FavorIdeas.com.

I think every bride can benefit from the tips in this article - find what works best for you, what compliments your style and taste, and experiment some. I know I’m rethinking my own makeup bag now!
