If you have a number of guests coming in from out-of-town, or if you’re having a destination wedding, go a step beyond providing a welcome basket in their rooms by having a welcome cocktail party waiting for them.
Provide a few bottles of wine, or a punch, and a simple cheese and fruit platter in a private room — perhaps a bridal party members’ hotel room that you’ve set up early — and start your guests’ weekend off with a chance to mingle, unwind, and get ready for a terrific event. This party is low-budget and thanks your guests for traveling to be there for your big day.
