A picture may be worth a thousand words, but I’m sure that saying wasn’t referring to wedding vows! Many of us are familiar with the tried and true “I, Mynamehere, take you, Yournamethere, etc.” And many of us are comfortable and happy with the sentiments and pledges expressed therein. But what if you aren’t? Here is an incredible opportunity to individually express your love for each other and to share a unique pledge.
Your vows can be expressed in rhyme or in prose. They can reflect the theme of your wedding with elegant style or something more casual. Many couples will write their own vows, and the tone is genuine and lovely.
There are others who wish to have something more personal, but don’t feel up to the challenge of expressing it in that forum. They have options too! A quick Internet search brings up a number of sites with suggestions and some offering pay services. You might even check with your own family and circle of friends. You may find one of them can turn out something beautiful that was penned just for you. Personally, my own family has taken to asking me for those personalized phrases for all manner of things from birthday cards to wedding invitations. So don’t be afraid to speak up on the home front!

This was a great post. I think that this may be one of the hardest areas for couples to plan for, especially guys like me! Thanks for the tips and I am sure you will get some requests to help write for others.
