How My Wedding Hero got started

Posted on Tuesday 22 August 2006

It all started with a recent wedding for some close friends. If you have ever planned such an event (or are about to) you know it involves laying out tables, arranging menu selections and assigning seating. But there was one thing missing - nowhere in the whole process was there a single place that you could get all the information in a form that was intelligible. It was all on loose sheets of paper marked up with pencil on illegible copies. Suddenly it became evident - “there should be a better way, so why not give it a shot ourselves.”

To make a long story short, that idea has now become My Wedding Hero at myweddinghero.com - a simple but powerful wedding planning software. My Wedding Hero will allow brides to organize and manage all the minute details surrounding one of the biggest events of their lives. Wedding Planners will also have a tool to help run their business. From guest lists to vendors, from table layouts to menu selections My Wedding Hero will help with interactive to-do lists, and electronic reminders to your phone or email. Even with such powerful technology, My Wedding Hero will be easy to use. Then on that special day, you can be relaxed and confident that every loose end has been tied into a beautiful wedding bow.

Point on the James Open House

Posted on Wednesday 16 August 2006

We were recently invited to the Open House at Point on the James by our good friend Mary Layman of TriMedia. We had the chance to meet with many local business contacts and talk about weddings and wedding planning. We’ve also received some awesome feedback from attendees like Renee Lowery of ERA Woody Hogg & Associates right on the spot (thanks Renee!). Scott and Amye Brunette from Richmond Weddings invited us to attend their next Bridal Show August 27th. Definitely an awesome experience for us!
